DORA MOLNAR

Dora Molnar Portrait

Since childhood, Dora Molnar has had a targeted desire to make a career at the nexus of fine and decorative arts, interiors and architecture. She pursued these fields academically, earning both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Art Business from Icart, Paris and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London.

Her keen, interdisciplinary savvy opened many doors. She gained rich experience in the auction industry, working at Sotheby’s, Camard & Associés alongside top specialists in the field of 20th century decorative arts, particularly Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

Meanwhile, Dora has been reporting on the antique and design markets for nearly a decade, frequenting major international fairs, such as TEFAF, la Biennale des Antiquaires, Frieze Masters, Design Days Dubai, Salone del Mobile, Design Miami/Basel.

Her equal passion for tasteful contemporary creation lead Dora to work at the studio of renowned Irish furniture designer Joseph Walsh, as well as the exquisite French rug designer, Chevalier édition, where she spent the past couple years.

Beside her work at these exceptional companies, Dora has advised numerous private clients – taking special satisfaction in quickly finding them the most intriguing items. From this broad experience, her love for exquisite furniture, plus „the thrill of the chase”, naturally concentrated her efforts upon acquiring French antiques for the interior design community.

Dora embraces the excitement of managing her own consultancy with its diverse activities. On a given day, she might peruse an antique store, negotiate a Mid-century dining table at a trade fair, or bid for a Louis Philippe mirror at an estate sale in the Loire Valley. Or, you might find her browsing an exhibition, reading a book on the history of design, or perhaps sipping café at Palais Royal.
